Our Team

Our 150 amazing and committed staff are the backbone of Princes Court. It’s their collective positivity and team focus that makes them so valued for their contribution to the lives of the people we serve at our Mildura Retirement Village.

With a higher than average staff ratio, our team have responded to increasing demands due to covid with incredible enthusiasm, taking on additional workloads and changing practices, working long days and weekends when needed to ensure our residents are safe and emotionally secure.

As a not-for-profit, community owned incorporated association, our business is managed by a board of nine members with a depth of extensive professional backgrounds in finance, business management, social work, education, and nursing. Each Board member participates in several sub-committees and working parties to ensure their expertise is shared widely to provide the best aged care in Mildura.

Generations from the same families are proud of their lengthy involvement and their contribution to Princes Court, either as staff, volunteers, visiting family or as a resident at our retirement village in Mildura. This personal connection is just one of many satisfying encounters staff mention as they care for and interact with our 100 residents, many of whom are family, neighbours, and well-known locals.

Executive Team leaders

Anthony Couroupis

Chief Executive Officer

With 25 years of experience in strategic management across diverse organizations, Anthony has held both CEO and company secretary roles. His expertise encompasses community-commercial and government sectors.

Anthony’s qualifications include degrees in economics and company secretarial practice. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ (AICD) Company Directors Course, a member of the AICD, and a fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Kevin O'Neill

Executive Manager Shared Services

Kevin is a registered nurse who has worked predominantly in the primary mental health and alcohol and drug fields, in regional and rural areas in both Victoria and NSW.

Kevin is originally from Scotland and has had a long and varied career across several industries.

Kevin has a Bachelor of Nursing, Grad Diploma Nursing and expects to complete his MBA in 2022. He is a member of the Australian College of Health Service Management, Institute of Public Administration Australia, and the Association of Project Managers (UK).

Sianne Nicholds

Director of Care Services

Sianne Nicholds is the Director of Care Services with Princes Court.

She is a skilled and experienced manager with over 20 years’ experience, nine of which involved various managerial posts, including four years as the manager of different aged care facilities with a minimum of 200 staff and 170 residents.

During this time, she also worked and supported the quality department for integration of multiple entities and has experience in commissioning a new 100-bed facility, including establishing a day respite care within the facility.

Rita Valentich

Finance Manager

Rita commenced her career working as an auditor in Melbourne for twelve years, auditing a wide variety of companies and organisations both large and small, including manufacturing, buyer groups, stockbrokers, textiles and not for profits.

Since returning to Regional Victoria Rita has worked in senior finance roles for a dried fruit company, a winery, local not for profit and is more recently in Aged Care at Princes Court.

Rita has had extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, project accounting and systems implementation.

Rita completed a Bachelor of Economics and Commerce with Melbourne University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Russell Gilbert

Executive Chef

Russell, our executive chef leads the operation of our commercial kitchen, preparing, cooking, and developing our menu and food services.

Russell designs menus, with all residents in mind. Having years of experience behind him and an understanding of the fine balance of Aged Care menu planning, he is now able to create menus that get approved by a nutritionist with little or no changes.  
Collaborating with our care and nursing staff and residents to provide quality and nutritious meals that meet their choices and expectations. 

Russell also communicates the importance of compliance with the Food Safety Act and Aged Care Quality Standards, while contributing to his team’s wellbeing to inspire a positive workplace.

 

Sheryl Tyack

Village Coordinator

Sheryl has been our  Village Coordinator for 4 years, with a previous 20 years’ of experience in retail management.

Sheryl is the person you speak to when you are making an enquiry about the Prince Court Village and its attributes in order to achieve a high quality independent living environment and to administer the efficient operation of the village.

What Sheryl loves the  most about her  job is that the residents  invite you into their lives and make you feel like family. She is passionate about learning and always doing her best for the Princes Court community. 

Having  a membership with the DCM institute, that offers professional development support to any organisation offering ongoing programs for Village managers to upskill and build a career development path.

 

Laura Roberts

Homecare Coordinator

Laura is our dedicated Home Care Coordinator with 5 years of experience in the field. Her passion lies in connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and providing them with the support they need to maintain their independence in the comfort of their own homes.

What Laura loves about her job is the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the smiles on their faces as they continue to live independently, knowing that I’ve played a role in enabling them to do so.

I am deeply passionate about the concept of aging with dignity and believe that every individual, regardless of their age, deserves to enjoy a high quality of life. My mission is to ensure that seniors receive the care, attention, and respect they deserve as they age gracefully.

Laura holds qualifications, as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, and a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics. These qualifications have provided me with valuable insights into the dietary and nutritional needs of the elderly, allowing me to offer holistic care that encompasses both physical and emotional well-being. 

Jakob Bird

Maintenance Supervisor

Jakob is our jack of all trades Maintenance Supervisor. He handles a wide array of tasks with unmatched skill and efficiency, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. From routine maintenance to emergency repairs, Jakob is the go-to person who keeps Princes Court facilities in top shape. His expertise spans across various areas, including electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building upkeep.

Not only is Jakob highly skilled technically, but he is also incredibly organised and adept at managing maintenance schedules, coordinating with contractors, and overseeing safety protocols. His proactive approach means that potential issues are often identified and addressed before they can become significant problems.

Jakob’s versatility and problem-solving abilities are invaluable to our team. Whether he’s fixing a complex mechanical issue, troubleshooting electrical problems, or simply performing regular maintenance checks, Jakob does it all with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence. His dedication ensures that our residences and staff work in a safe hands and seamlessly, making him an indispensable member of our organisation.
