Moving into a residential aged care home is a significant decision, and it is critical that you and your family understand the costs and fees associated with care so that you and your family can select the home, type of accommodation, and the payment option that best meets your needs. The fees you pay cover the cost of the care you receive as well as your stay in a Mildura aged care home.
While the Australian Government subsidises aged care fees, you may be asked to contribute to the cost of your care and accommodation at our Mildura retirement village if you can afford it.
We strongly advise you to seek independent financial advice in order to select the best option for you.
Types of care
Sometimes, the best way to get help and support is by moving into a Mildura aged care home. We offer a full range of care to help suit your needs.
As a carer, you may need a small break or your loved one may need some time to recover after a hospital admission. We are happy to help with respite aged care, please contact us to enquire if our home has current availability.
All of our teams complete specialist dementia training, equipping them with strategies to enhance quality of life and provide Person First care for residents at our Mildura retirement village.

Fees and Payments
Your fees cover the care you receive and your accommodation, and sometimes additional services.
Care Fees
Basic daily fee$63.57 per day
+
Means tested care fee Determined by Services AustraliaCare fees include the Basic Daily Fee and a Means Tested Care Fee.
Basic Daily Fee
This fee is set out by the Government and equates to 85% of the full pension. The fee amount will be reviewed by the government on the 20th March and 20th September each year in line with the pension increase. Everyone in aged care is required to pay this fee unless they are experiencing financial hardship which will be determined by Centrelink.
Means Tested Care Fee
This is an additional daily care contribution fee. This fee is determined by Services Australia upon completing a means test and is capped annually and over a resident’s lifetime.
What is this?
Care fees include the Basic Daily Fee and a Means Tested Care Fee.

What is this?
Our ‘Enriched Experience Package’ provides a range of added benefits, allowing you to enjoy a more fulfilling time with us, that is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
This package of additional services is offered in our Mildura aged care homes and includes entertainment and technology; personal equipment and services; room extras; wellbeing and social activities; and dining and drinks services.

*Standard Rate. Respite residents and residents assessed as Fully Government Supported by the Department of Human Services or Department of Veterans’ Affairs will be charged a maximum of $8.95 per day. All fees are indexed annually.

Accommodation Fee Options
In addition to aged care fees, you may also be required to pay an accommodation payment. The accommodation payment refers to the price of the room that you choose and will vary across aged care homes. The amount that you are required to pay is based upon an individual’s assets and income and is determined by Services Australia upon completing a means test. You may be required to pay all or contribute to the cost of your accommodation. The means test is not compulsory to complete, but those who choose not to will be required to pay the full room price.

To allow for flexibility there are four ways in which you can choose to pay for your Mildura aged care accommodation.

Option 1
Daily Accommodation Payment
$93.42 per day
for a Standard room
Instead of paying for your accommodation as a lump sum you can choose to pay a daily fee. The amount you pay is based on a daily rate; as agreed with your service provider in line with the current MPIR (maximum permissible interest rate).

Refundable Accommodation Deposit
$405,000.00
for a Standard room
This option is a lump sum accommodation payment. The balance of the deposit is refunded when you leave the aged care home less any amounts you have agreed to have deducted.
